10-12.3.2006 Henri stepped on the podium in the first race in Shanghai
The first race of the season was driven on the first-rate F1 track in
Shanghai, China. Henri started 4th in the first final after the after the
qualifying session driven during the downpour. The whole team did well in
the warm-ups and the team was hopeful and optimistic in the grid. The
starting lights went on and after they went off the cars dashed off. Henri
had bad luck when his engine died in the grid. Henri was able to start his
car fast and got started being 17th in the first turn. A dreadful and rapid
rise began towards the lead.
After a few laps Henri was 9th. The gap to lead had accumulated quite a lot
during the first laps but Henri succeeded in rising 7th. As a whole the
entire team did well in the first final since all the tree drivers were
among the top seven. Henri was quite disappointed with the race since his goal was the top leading places.

The second final started with the leading places in mind. The race did not
even have time to begin when during the war-up lap Henri and his teammate
span around in a treacherous pool of water.
While the marshals pushed Henri back on the track, the car's rear wing was
damaged. The situation looked bad but luckily the team mechanics succeeded
in swiftly replacing the rear wing in the grid. When the lights went off,
Henri accelerated from the 7th grid and sped away to be 6th right in the
first curve. When the race went on Henri smartly passed his teammate and
other competitors.
The final result of the excellent race was that Henri stepped on the podium
to receive a trophy for his 3rd position. Henri was satisfied with the
result of the second final but said that he is able to do better. The back
wing that was replaced in the grid was incorrectly adjusted so the others
did better at top speed. But it was my own fault that I spun around, said
Henri who is 4th in the Asian Formula Renault 2000 series.
